5 Ways To Discover Your Work Passion

Aloha Friends,

Stuck in a dead-end job with no future? Most of us have a difficult time getting out of bed Monday morning no matter what we do for a living. Our careers provide us with a lifestyle we and our families could not do without. They can also give us a sense of personal identity and may even fulfill a life purpose. If you are not excited about how your current career is meeting your desire to make a difference in your world, then it may be time to renew your work passion.

Discovering your passion at work should be one of the most important elements in your life. You will notice that your happiness, contentment, and health will increase when you find a job purpose to both excite and challenge.

Discover your passion with this 5 step process.

1. Get your priorities in order.

This means taking a good hard look at yourself and recognizing what you enjoy doing. Take an inventory of your strengths and weaknesses. Divide them into categories of annoyance or encouragement. Once you have taken an honest personal review you will be prepared to easily locate the right job for you.

2. Find a job where you feel challenged and appreciated.

Most people find these qualities more rewarding than money. Although you may be in a field that inspires, if the work function does not match your capability then long term you will not remain interested. No one should remain in a black hole monotony where every day is the same old task. “Hey McFly, it is the twenty-first century, we have machines for that stuff.”

3. Pattern your place of work after a community.

Realize you are part of a team, and you contribute to achieve a common goal. It may be helpful to step up to consider the bigger picture. When you do this a more generous, loving, and kind attitude with your co-workers could appear. A sense of gratitude will ensure a happy workplace environment.

4. Let go of your fear and inhibition.

Many people bring bad life or past experiences with them to work. When this happens we can expect less than 100% effort, detachment, and dissatisfaction. Try to forgive old coworkers, mentors, and bosses of their past wrongdoings this will help inspire you to give complete effort. Plan to arrive each morning with a positive outlook and a clear head.

5. Recognize there are a lot of ways for work to feel like a comfortable place.

Take care of your health, eat right, and get enough sleep. When you show up at work sick or hungover, plan on a terrible experience. Take appropriate responsibility to prevent these bad workdays. You will notice eating healthy, exercising, and vitamins will increase energy and ensure an alert mind.

If you follow these steps you will find happiness at work and will not have to tell your boss to take this job and shove it. You will be much more content with your life, friends, and family. If you are passionate about the work you do then every day will be filled with purpose and excitement.
