Looking for some holiday activities to help get you into the Christmas spirit?
Saturday, December 13th, Kailua-Kona will be hosting its 30th annual Christmas parade following the Menehune Holiday Food Drive. Once again this year, the holiday parade will be supportive of Hawaii Island’s Food Basket so all entrants and attendees are encouraged to contribute anything they can. Donations will be accepted at all of the west side food markets on the day of the parade, from Captain Cook to Waimea, as well as during the parade, when The Food Basket entry passes by.

See It In Person
The theme of this year’s parade will be “Na Mele O Kalikimaka – The Songs of Christmas.” The parade starts at 5:00pm at the Kekuaokalani Gym next to Kona Pool, just past Coconut Grove Marketplace. With roughly 80 entries so far, nearly half of these will light up the night sky and bring music to our ears. Other entries include HELCO’s Toys For Tots Train – and we can’t forget, Santa and his reindeer!
Watch It From Home
If you are not able to make it into town, you can watch the parade locally on Channel 53 or stream it on the web at www.naleo.tv beginning at 5:30pm. Entry applications and additional parade and food drive information is available online at www.paradesinkona.com.
